Yemeni government forces backed by Saudi Arabia claim to have "secured" the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait at the start of a major offensive against the Iran-backed Houthi movement. A Yemeni military spokesman stated that forces were besieging Houthi fighters in the Red Sea coastal town of Dhubab, which overlooks the waterway, after taking control of its airport and cutting the road to Mokha. However, Houthi-run media denied that government forces had made advances in the Dhubab area. Meanwhile, the Houthis also claimed to have launched ballistic missiles and drones at Saudi Aramco oil sites in Riyadh and Khurais in retaliation for Saudi strikes.
