OpenAI rolls out text watermarking for API, EU users
OpenAI announced its approach to text watermarking in response to the EU AI Act. Starting today, API customers globally can opt in to text watermarking for select models. Over the coming weeks, invisible watermarks will be added to eligible ChatGPT and Codex text output in the European Union. The company is also opening applications for a text watermark detector, initially for approved researchers and expert organizations.
