Wall Street News reported that the Asian GPU financing sector, previously dominated by private credit funds, is now seeing active participation from major international banks, significantly expanding the funding pool for the next phase of the AI race. In recent months, international banks such as Citi and JPMorgan Chase have played key roles in approximately $3.8 billion in GPU loans to three AI infrastructure providers: GMI Cloud, Zankore, and PaleBlueDot AI. According to sources, Citi, JPMorgan Chase, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Santander, and Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation are currently evaluating GPU-backed loans. PwC estimates that data center spending in Asia could reach $8.2 trillion by 2050, with the vast majority allocated to hardware such as GPUs and servers.
