Gen Zers are now the biggest spenders in the art market, survey finds
A new survey by Art Basel and UBS found that Gen Zers became the most active buyers of high-end art in 2025 and the first half of 2026, spending more than twice as much as Baby Boomers. They accounted for nearly half of all collectors buying artworks priced above $1 million in 2026, with an average spend of $347,460 on art, up 19% from the previous year. The overall art market saw total sales increase 4% in 2025 to $59.6 billion.
