Mastercard CEO Michael Miebach stated that cross-border payments are currently the clearest use case for stablecoins, and Mastercard sees the greatest traction for this new type of digital currency in that area. Miebach noted in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Friday that current cross-border payments take several days and involve unclear fees, whereas instant fund transfers would greatly benefit companies' working capital.
