US President Donald Trump stated that "it's time for Ukraine to get a new president" following Volodymyr Zelensky's criticism of a US diesel deal with Russia. Zelensky had warned that releasing millions of tonnes of Russian diesel into the US would help Moscow fund its war. Trump, who confirmed the agreement on Friday to suspend sanctions on Russian diesel exports until April 7, accused Zelensky of wanting to "make problems for the world" by continuing to authorize attacks on Russian refineries. EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas echoed Zelensky's criticism, stating that easing pressure on Russia is ill-timed and Europe will not follow suit, with new sanctions expected Monday. The deal is part of Trump's efforts to lower US fuel prices ahead of midterm elections.
