Musk stated that Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet service, will offer "affordable" pricing in India to challenge the low-cost Reliance Jio, owned by Indian telecom giant Mukesh Ambani. This move comes as the competition between Musk and Ambani escalates, just ahead of Reliance Jio's parent company launching India's largest-ever IPO. Musk posted on X on Saturday that if Starlink were priced too high in India, no one would buy it, so the pricing must be affordable. He also noted that competition would greatly benefit ordinary Indians by providing more choices, and while Ambani's profits might decrease, his business would not collapse. Musk had previously accused the Indian government under Prime Minister Modi and Ambani of obstructing Starlink's entry into the Indian market to favor market leader Jio. The Indian government denied any bias, stating that three satellite companies, including Starlink and Jio, are awaiting final security clearances.
