South Korean cable maker Gaon Cable announced Monday it plans to establish a nuclear power cable production line at its US subsidiary LSCUS in Tabor City, North Carolina. This move aims to meet the growing demand for specialized cables for conventional nuclear reactors and small modular reactors (SMRs) as the US expands its nuclear capacity. The new line will expand Gaon Cable's US-made portfolio beyond overhead transmission lines.
