Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa called on European regulators to create stronger incentives for carmakers to manufacture vehicles in the region, citing intensifying competition from Chinese rivals. Filosa, speaking ahead of the Paris Motor Show, noted Stellantis' declining sales and China's rapid acceleration in the European market. His comments come as the EU Commission has proposed "Made in Europe" legislation, requiring minimum local content for vehicles sold in the bloc. Separately, European Trade Commissioner Maroš Sefčovič stated that China has agreed to halve its hybrid car exports to the EU, a move that saw European carmakers like Stellantis (+2.7%) and Renault (+3%) rise on Monday. China's Ministry of Commerce confirmed ongoing dialogue and "several consensuses" with the EU, emphasizing a non-discrimination principle for import quotas.
