French central bank governor says France can cut deficit to 3% by 2029
Banque de France Governor Emmanuel Moulin told CNBC that despite political turmoil, France is "putting the house in order" and is capable of slashing its budget deficit. The country is currently under the EU's excessive deficit procedure, with its deficit at 5.1% last year. Moulin acknowledged market concerns over political uncertainty and rising borrowing costs, but expressed confidence in France's financial stability. He noted the government's objective is to achieve a 5% deficit, and aims to reach 3% by 2029.
