Firmus, an Australian data center operator backed by NVIDIA and Blackstone, withdrew its planned IPO last Friday, which was expected to be valued at up to A$44 billion (approximately US$30.5 billion). Days later, another Australian data center company, AirTrunk, also canceled its listing plans. CoreWeave CEO Mike Intrator attributed his company's 17% cumulative stock price drop this week to these events. Its bond yields remained close to 15% on Thursday, with prices falling below the distressed level of 80 cents. According to a Financial Times report on October 16, bond prices for multiple data center projects that provide computing power to tech giants such as Meta, NVIDIA, and Oracle have fallen across the board below par, with approximately $18 billion in loans related to Oracle projects having slipped into distressed territory. A Gartner report indicates that AI data center operators face a $4.9 trillion revenue gap by the end of 2030, potentially leading to over $4 trillion in asset impairments. NVIDIA's market capitalization has evaporated by approximately $270 billion over the past week.
