Yossi Mekelberg, an associate fellow at Chatham House and Middle East affairs specialist, stated that Israel should work with regional countries to achieve its strategic aims, rather than pursuing more war and territorial occupation. Mekelberg told Al Jazeera that while Israel prioritizes security, true security is achieved through peace agreements, compromises, and concessions, citing Egypt and Jordan's security partnerships as examples. He added that military achievements are not translating into diplomatic ones, and working with neighboring countries for mutual security is preferable to seeking more territory as a guarantor.
