BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology Co., a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, plans to inject over 2.1 billion yuan into its subsidiary, BAIC BJEV.
BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, announced on the evening of October 15 its plan to jointly inject capital of up to 1.638 billion yuan into BAIC BJEV with its controlling shareholder, BAIC Group. Additionally, BAIC BJEV plans to introduce external investors through a public listing process, with a capital increase not exceeding 500 million yuan. The combined maximum capital injection for both initiatives is 2.138 billion yuan, primarily intended to supplement working capital for daily operations. This plan is subject to shareholder approval, and external investors have not yet been determined. Although BAIC BJEV's cumulative sales in the first three quarters of this year increased by 46.52% year-on-year, and its gross profit margin turned positive to 4.21% in the first half, the company still faces high brand promotion and research and development expenses, with a net cash outflow from operating activities of 1.75 billion yuan, indicating that revenue growth has not yet translated into synchronous cash inflow.
