SK Hynix plans to distribute a special dividend of approximately 16 trillion Korean Won (about $12.1 billion), funded by proceeds from the sale of its stake in Japanese memory chip manufacturer Kioxia. According to South Korean newspaper The Dong-A Ilbo, citing investment banking sources, the plan is expected to be officially announced on Wednesday, October 28, when SK Hynix releases its third-quarter earnings report.
The net profit from SK Hynix's sale of its Kioxia stake totals approximately 20 trillion Korean Won (about $15.1 billion), and the proposed special dividend is equivalent to about 80% of this net profit.
