U.S. spending on Iran war exceeds $47 billion
The Pentagon estimates that U.S. spending on the war in Iran has exceeded $47 billion, over 25% higher than the Department of Defense's estimate in July. Of this, over $29 billion was spent on replenishing ammunition, and more than $6 billion on replacing military equipment. This estimate does not explicitly account for the repair costs of U.S. military bases damaged by Iranian missile and drone attacks.
