Full-page Ad in The Wall Street Journal Ignites New Controversy Over Tokenized Stocks; Securitize Fights Back with Its Own Ad
The weekend edition of The Wall Street Journal featured a full-page advertisement warning public company CEOs about the risks of tokenized stocks and urging them to opt out within 30 days. The ad was funded by the Common Sense Leadership Fund and linked to Nasdaq's FAQ explaining its opt-out platform for tokenized securities. Nasdaq denied any association with the advertisement. On Wednesday, tokenization company Securitize (SECZ) also ran a full-page ad in The Wall Street Journal to counter, emphasizing that "tokenization, when implemented correctly, adheres to Wall Street rules" and promoting its tokens, which are backed one-to-one by actual shares, carry voting and dividend rights, and trade on an SEC-compliant platform.
