Poll: 85% of US Voters Prioritize Economy, Living Costs Ahead of Elections
A poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs found that as of mid-October, 80% of surveyed Americans believe the country needs substantial change or "complete and total upheaval." Approximately 85% of respondents cited the economy as a top issue influencing their vote in the upcoming election, with skyrocketing living costs, including fuel prices and healthcare premiums, dominating discussions this year. Emerging concerns like artificial intelligence (AI) were ranked as a substantial issue by 35% of voters, while transgender issues were at 12%. AI data centers have also become a bipartisan concern due to rising electricity bills, water strain, and environmental impact.
