Daewoo E&C seeks government mediation in Czech nuclear project dispute with KHNP
South Korean builder Daewoo Engineering & Construction urged the government on Monday to mediate its dispute with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) over a Czech nuclear project, warning that finding a replacement builder could jeopardize the project's schedule. This appeal came four days after KHNP ended subcontract negotiations with a Daewoo-led consortium, which includes Doosan Enerbility, due to disagreements over construction costs and responsibility for additional work arising from design changes. Daewoo has formally requested intervention from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
