Yemen's internationally recognized government urged the UN Security Council to take stronger action to prevent Iran from transferring weapons to the Houthi rebels. Yemen's Ambassador to the UN, Abdullah Al-Saadi, submitted a briefing to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council, highlighting the ongoing military escalation by the Iran-backed Houthis and their repeated attacks on civilians, vital infrastructure, and state institutions. Ambassador Al-Saadi emphasized that the Houthi attack on a medical center in Lahj province on Monday, which killed five people, and Friday's ballistic missile attack on Aden Airport (the seventh in a month), demonstrate a severe and systematic pattern of Houthi attacks on civilians. He called on the international community to take decisive and effective action beyond statements and condemnations.
