Background and Purpose of IOST Mainnet Mapping
IOST (Internet of Services Token) project, since its inception, has been committed to building a high-performance, decentralized blockchain network, aiming to solve the scalability and usability issues of existing blockchain technologies. Before the official launch of the IOST mainnet, its tokens existed on the Ethereum network as ERC-20 standard tokens. With the official launch of IOST mainnet v1.0 on February 25, 2019, the need to convert ERC-20 tokens into native mainnet tokens arose, a process known as "mainnet mapping" or "token swap."

The core purpose of this mapping was to enable IOST tokens to function within their own mainnet ecosystem, supporting DApp operations, network governance, and transaction fee payments, among other features. The exchange ratio between ERC-20 IOST tokens and IOST mainnet tokens was 1:1.
Implementation and Participants of the 2019 Mainnet Mapping
The IOST mainnet token mapping began around February to March 2019 and was planned to continue throughout the year. The IOST Foundation stated at the time that it would notify the community in advance before the mapping concluded. For users holding IOST ERC-20 tokens (wallet addresses typically starting with "0x"), performing the mapping was a necessary step to convert their assets into native IOST mainnet tokens (addresses typically a 5-11 digit, letter, or underscore combination).

To simplify user operations and ensure asset security, IOST officially strongly recommended that users perform the token swap through CEXs that supported mainnet mapping. At that time, several major global cryptocurrency trading platforms, including Binance, OKX, KuCoin, and Upbit, actively supported IOST's mainnet mapping, providing convenient exchange services for users. Users only needed to deposit their ERC-20 IOST tokens into these mapping-supported exchanges, and the exchanges would automatically complete the conversion and issue native IOST tokens to the users' accounts.
In addition to exchanges, users could also store IOST mainnet tokens in wallets that supported IOST mainnet assets at the time, such as TokenPocket, Cobo Wallet, and Huobi Wallet.
Subsequent Developments of IOST

Since its mainnet launch in 2019, the IOST network has continued to develop. Notably, IOST launched the IOST 3.0 L2 mainnet in March 2025 and provided cross-chain bridging services for assets between BSC (BNB Chain) and the IOST Layer 2 network. This represents two different stages of development from the original ERC-20 mainnet mapping, reflecting IOST's continuous efforts to improve network performance and interoperability.
As of the publication date on August 6, 2026, the price of IOST token is approximately $0.0006, with an on-chain market capitalization of about $12.6 million. Its maximum supply is 90 billion IOST.
Trading Channels for IOST Tokens

IOST tokens can be traded on multiple mainstream cryptocurrency trading platforms. As of the publication date, platforms supporting IOST trading include Binance, OKX, KuCoin, Upbit, MEXC, BingX, Bitget, LBank, Pionex, CoinW, BTCC, WhiteBIT, GroveX, and Bittime. Users should choose an appropriate trading platform based on the regulations in their region and platform compliance.
