Ministry of Commerce data show a steady increase in trade in services between January and November 2025, with total imports and exports of services amounting to 72,237 million yuan, an increase of 7.1 per cent over the previous year. Of these, exports amounted to $38.8 billion, or 13.4 per cent; imports to $40.436 billion, or 2.5 per cent; and trade in services totalled $80.635 billion, or a decrease of $27.933 billion. Knowledge-intensive trade in services continues to grow. In January-November, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services increased by 5.6 per cent by 273.57 billion yuan. Of these, 11.768 billion yuan and 95.921 billion yuan were imported and exported from other commercial services, telecommunications computers and information services, increasing by 4.1 per cent and 8.3 per cent, respectively. The exports of knowledge-intensive services amounted to $161,470 million, an increase of 8.5 per cent; imports of knowledge-intensive services totalled $112,19.1 million, an increase of 1.7 per cent; and a surplus of $47,237 million, an increase of $10,674 million over the same period of the previous year.
