According to the Guangzhou Bureau of China State Railway, this year’s New Year’s Day holiday rail transport period will run from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026, lasting five days. The Guangzhou Bureau expects to transport 11.1 million passengers, averaging 2.22 million passengers per day—an increase of 90,000 passengers, or 4.2%, compared to the previous year. The peak passenger volume is expected to occur on January 1, with an estimated 2.792 million passengers, an increase of 394,000 passengers compared to the previous year, representing a 16.4% rise.
