TrendForce: Global Laptop Shipments Forecast for 2026 Lowered to a Year-on-Year Decline of 5.4%
According to the latest survey by TrendForce, against a backdrop of limited economic recovery and increasingly conservative consumer behavior, rapidly rising memory prices continue to erode laptop brands’ profitability and pricing flexibility. Consequently, TrendForce has once again revised downward its forecast for global laptop shipments in 2026 to a year-on-year decline of 5.4%, to nearly 173 million units, reflecting the conservative approach brands are taking toward inventory, promotions, and product mix in response to mounting cost pressures.
