Hengqin Port Handled 147,000 Passengers on New Year's Day, Setting a New Record
On the first day of the 2026 New Year’s Day holiday, Hengqin Port saw a strong start to cross-border traffic. According to statistics from the Hengqin Border Inspection Station under the Zhuhai Border Inspection General Station, a total of 147,000 passenger trips were processed on January 1, setting a new single-day record for passenger traffic at the port and marking an 84% year-on-year increase. Among them, mainland tourists traveling to Macau exceeded 100,000, accounting for 71% of the day’s total passenger volume. Meanwhile, more than 11,000 vehicles were processed, with over 7,000 being single-plate vehicles, representing approximately 63% of the total. (CCTV News)
