Goldman Sachs Upgrade on TSMC; Revenue and Capital Expenditures Expected to Continue Accelerating
Goldman Sachs In a research report, analysts stated that driven by the AI boom, TSMC’s revenue and capital expenditures are expected to continue accelerating. Analysts predict that TSMC’s capacity constraints will persist through 2027, with total capital expenditures exceeding $150 billion between 2026 and 2028. Goldman Sachs Estimates suggest that TSMC’s revenue could grow by 30% in 2026 and 28% in 2027. Analysts note that despite rising capital expenditures and ongoing capacity expansion, TSMC’s gross margin is improving, thanks to increased production efficiency and a lower-than-expected dilution effect from overseas fabs. TSMC Revenue from the latest 2-nanometer chips is expected to ramp up rapidly and contribute approximately 7.5% of total revenue in 2026. Goldman Sachs has raised its target price for TSMC from NT$1,720 to NT$2,330. The stock is currently trading at NT$1,670.
