2026 National Radio and Television Work Conference: Promoting the Development of High-Quality Short-Form Dramas
On January 5–6, the 2026 National Radio, Television, and Online Audio-Visual Work Conference was held in Beijing. The conference outlined key priorities for radio, television, and online audio-visual services in 2026. These include promoting the flourishing development and standardized management of online audio-visual services. Efforts will be made to promote the production of high-quality micro- and short-form dramas, strengthen full-chain, full-cycle management of online variety shows, advance the precise and scientific management of live-streaming programs, foster the development of new online audio-visual business models, and enhance the governance of the online audio-visual ecosystem. The innovative integration and application of artificial intelligence will be deepened. High-quality audio-visual datasets will be constructed, typical application scenarios will be innovated, and healthy and standardized development will be promoted. Efforts will be made to deepen the development of ultra-high definition (UHD) and implement the “Dual Enhancement” project for broadcasting and online audiovisual services and user experience. The scope and quality of UHD development will be expanded. The “one-click TV viewing” feature using a single remote control will be accelerated to comprehensively improve the TV viewing experience. A comprehensive crackdown on false medical advertising will be carried out. The benefits of the “Dual Governance” initiative will be expanded to reach a wider audience, and public service guarantees will be strengthened.
