On January 6, Unitree Technology announced that its Unitree G1 and R1 robots have been selected as official recommended platforms for RoboCup. Participating teams will use the Unitree G1 and R1 platforms to design, program, and debug humanoid robots. The RoboCup Soccer competition is a core event within the RoboCup World Cup system, with the ultimate vision of having a fully autonomous robot soccer team defeat the human World Cup champions by 2050.
