Samsung's crease-free foldable OLED display debuts at CES
Samsung unveiled a crease-free foldable OLED panel for the first time at CES 2026. It is highly likely to be featured in the Galaxy Z Fold8, set to launch in the second half of this year, though it could also be used in Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Fold. According to Sammobile, the crease on this foldable panel is virtually invisible to the naked eye. Samsung even set up a dedicated “crease test” area at the exhibition booth to specifically compare the new panel with existing products. Officials claim the new panel enables "seamless text display across the fold," reducing the "crease" typically found in the center of traditional foldable panels and delivering a more consistent viewing experience.
