Svmuu News Investment bank Benchmark has initiated coverage on tokenization infrastructure platform Securitize, assigning a "Buy" rating and a $16 price target. It positions Securitize as a "picks and shovels" opportunity within the tokenization wave (a business model akin to selling shovels to miners during a gold rush).
The analysis points out that Securitize's business model revolves around the entire lifecycle of tokenized assets, covering issuance, trading, and servicing. This allows it to generate sustained revenue as the industry scales, without relying on the success of any single asset or product.
Benchmark believes tokenization is one of the most profound transformations in capital markets since electronic trading, and Securitize is at the core of this trend. The company currently holds approximately 70% of the U.S. tokenization market share and collaborates with major asset managers like BlackRock. Its BUIDL fund has a size of around $1.7 billion.
Securitize plans to go public through a merger with Cantor Equity Partners II, with the merged entity expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker SECZ. The analysis also notes that while industry momentum is strong, the further adoption of tokenization still depends on the continued clarification of the regulatory environment.
