Samsung Electronics Unveils 2nm Process Technology and AI Semiconductor Ecosystem Partnership Plan
Svmuu News: Samsung Electronics held the SAFE Forum 2026 in Seoul, where it unveiled its next-generation 2nm process, DTCO (Design and Process Co-optimization) technology, and high-performance SRAM roadmap, and outlined strategies to expand cooperation within South Korea’s AI semiconductor ecosystem and advance next-generation foundry technologies. Samsung Electronics stated that it will use the SAFE Forum to strengthen communication with customers and partners and reinforce its platform role in South Korea’s system semiconductor industry beyond foundry production. Rebellions, a South Korean AI fabless company, announced that it has developed the REBEL100 NPU based on Samsung Electronics’ 4nm foundry process and advanced packaging, and that the two companies will continue to collaborate in the AI semiconductor sector. Samsung Electronics is also participating in the M.AX Alliance, promoted by South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, to advance the development of low-power, high-performance edge AI semiconductors for the automotive, home appliance, robotics, and defense sectors. The company will continue to support the MPW project, which reduces the burden of initial prototyping for South Korean fabless companies, as well as the K-CHIPS talent development program.
