Wolfe Research Analyst: The semiconductor industry is unlikely to experience an oversupply before 2028
Chris Caso, a senior analyst at Wolfe Research, said the semiconductor industry is unlikely to face an oversupply situation before 2028. He noted that current AI-driven demand continues to outpace supply, while new fab construction takes years to complete, and TSMC’s capacity is already fully booked. NVIDIA, Micron, and AMD have all reported strong results, with NVIDIA posting Q1 FY2027 revenue of $81.61 billion and Micron reporting Q3 FY2026 revenue of $41.46 billion.Caso is particularly bullish on the memory sector, as DRAM and HBM suppliers face severe supply constraints. NVIDIA has also secured its supply chain by providing funding to SK Hynix and OpenAI.
