Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) has successfully gained control of Addiko Bank after its voluntary takeover offer received acceptances for 10,831,435 shares, representing 56.16% of the shares covered by the offer, thus exceeding the 55% minimum threshold. RBI launched the €26.50-a-share offer in April. A competing bid from Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) at €37.00 per share failed to meet its 50% plus one share threshold, receiving pledges from only 31.2% of investors. The transaction, which values Addiko at €517 million, still requires regulatory clearance. Shareholders who have not yet accepted RBI's offer can tender their shares until November 3.
