Kraken's parent company, Payward, changes its tokenized stock strategy, will allow xStocks holders to submit proxy voting preferences
Previously, xStocks holders had no voting rights over their underlying stocks. Through a partnership with Broadridge, eligible investors can now submit proxy voting preferences. Mark Greenberg, Chief Business Officer at Payward, stated that the ultimate goal of tokenization is to allow global users to own a piece of a company, including having a say in its operations. xStocks are issued by Backed and are available to qualified investors outside the United States. Payward announced last month that it has partnered with fintech infrastructure provider GTN to expand its xStocks product to Hong Kong stocks, with plans to eventually expand to the UK, Europe, South Korea, and other international markets.
