According to real estate data analytics company Curinos, the average adjustable rate for Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC) has reached a new 2026 low of 7.16%. Meanwhile, the national average rate for fixed-rate home equity loans stands at 7.35%, slightly up from its 2026 low of 7.31% in late June. The current differential between the two is 19 basis points. These rates apply to applicants with a minimum credit score of 780 and a maximum combined loan-to-value ratio of less than 70%.
