SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won Appeals $643 Million Divorce Ruling
SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won has appealed to the Supreme Court of Korea regarding a court ruling that requires him to pay 944 billion won (approximately $643 million) to his ex-wife as part of their divorce asset division. This appeal follows the judgment made by the Seoul High Court on July 24. Chey Tae-won's legal team stated that this move aims to minimize the negative impact on shareholders and the group's operations. Analysts believe that this payment is unlikely to substantially diminish Chey Tae-won's wealth or threaten his control over SK Group, as the amount represents approximately 12% of his personal wealth.
