The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved daraxonrasib (brand name Rasonque), a new pancreatic cancer drug from Revolution Medicines (RevMed), for market. This drug is the first targeted therapy for a key molecular pathogenic mechanism in pancreatic cancer, marking one of the most significant breakthroughs in the field in years.

According to final-stage clinical trial data disclosed by the FDA, daraxonrasib extended the median survival for patients with aggressive pancreatic cancer to 13.2 months, nearly double that of patients receiving chemotherapy (6.7 months). The drug's annual list price exceeds $475,000, and its approved indication is for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer who have received at least one prior line of systemic therapy or are not suitable for such treatment. Wall Street analysts predict that the drug's sales could exceed $9 billion by 2032. Following the announcement, RevMed's stock price rose 2.5% during intraday trading, with its year-to-date cumulative gain already exceeding twofold, pushing the company's market capitalization past $45 billion.
