Australia posts second-quarter growth of 2.1%, beating expectations
Australia's economy expanded by 2.1% year on year in the second quarter, exceeding Reuters polled economists' estimate of 1.8%. This stronger-than-expected GDP print may allow the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) room to continue its policy tightening efforts to curb inflation, which stood at 3.5% in July, above the 3.3% forecast.
