Bermuda-based Chariot Re raises $700m in equity and debt to expand reinsurance platform
The oversubscribed funding, which marks the company's third capital raise since its July 2025 launch, will help Chariot Re scale its life and annuity reinsurance business. Sponsors MetLife and General Atlantic participated in the financing, alongside institutional investors led by Chubb. Chariot Re has raised over $2bn in total capital since its launch, supporting the reinsurance of approximately $20bn in liabilities.
