Al Jazeera reported that displaced persons camps in Yemen's Taiz province are overcrowded following recent Houthi offensives. The UNHCR stated that at least 100,000 people have fled their homes since the escalation of hostilities, with 65,845 people displaced in Taiz province between August 10 and September 15. Houthi forces have seized control of most of the Red Sea coast, including the port of Mocha, and government forces also launched airstrikes against Houthi positions last week, leading to an escalation of fighting on multiple fronts. This conflict has intensified pressure on global trade routes, particularly the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
