Darden Restaurants reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $233.4 million, or $2.04 per share, and net sales of $3.20 billion, both narrowly missing analysts' expectations. Olive Garden, the company's largest chain, saw its same-store sales increase by only 1.1%, as diners became more selective with their spending. LongHorn Steakhouse was the top performer with 6.2% same-store sales growth.
