The Palestinian group Hamas condemned the US-created "Peace Committee" for its decision not to cooperate with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), stating that the agency would have "no role" in Gaza. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said the move was "completely consistent with the Zionist (Israeli) position" and aimed at ending UNRWA's operations, preventing it from providing aid to Palestinians, and eliminating the Palestinian right of return. The Peace Committee posted on X on Friday that UNRWA had failed a "de-radicalization" test and stated that "UNRWA's days in Gaza are over."
