LG Innotek, a South Korean company, has started collecting real-world driving data on Korean roads in collaboration with US software company Applied Intuition. This initiative aims to improve sensors and software for autonomous vehicles. The first data collection vehicle is set to operate soon in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province, following a partnership established in March. LG Innotek plans to expand its Korean fleet to approximately 20 vehicles by 2028 for data collection and autonomous-driving software development. These vehicles are equipped with cameras, radar, and lidar.
