Cornell University Report: Bitcoin More Practical in Countries with Monetary Instability and Limited Banking Services
Cornell University released a report on the Bitcoin Adoption Index, surveying 25,880 people across 25 countries. The report found that in economies with unstable local currencies and limited banking services, such as El Salvador, Venezuela, and Nigeria, Bitcoin is viewed more as a practical alternative than a speculative tool. The report noted that despite many users having limited understanding of technical details (58% of respondents were unaware of Bitcoin's 21 million supply cap), Bitcoin still helps people in these countries circumvent banking system failures or inflation issues.
