President Donald Trump issued a proclamation on October 2, declaring the day "National Manufacturing Day" and celebrating the "extraordinary resurgence" of American manufacturing. He stated that since his return to the White House, over $11.2 trillion in American and foreign investment has been attracted to the manufacturing, critical infrastructure, and technology sectors. Furthermore, since he took office, the U.S. has added 112,000 factory construction workers, manufacturing has gained 72,000 jobs year-to-date in 2026, and the average manufacturing worker's real wages have increased by $2,500 annually.
