SK Hynix unveiled its MARS memory acceleration architecture and HBF high-bandwidth flash technology at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, aiming to address memory bottlenecks in AI inference and training. The MARS system can improve the Time to First Token (TTFT) by 3 to 5 times in multi-turn AI inference scenarios, while HBF technology expands capacity to 14 times that of HBM while maintaining near-HBM level bandwidth, with samples planned for early 2028. These two technologies mark SK Hynix's differentiated approach beyond the main HBM track, potentially having a profound impact on AI storage architecture and the competitive landscape of the storage industry chain.
