POSCO and Hanwha Ocean Partner to Develop High-Manganese Steel LNG Carrier Cargo Tanks
South Korea's Posco said on Thursday it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hanwha Ocean to jointly develop and test liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier cargo tanks made of Posco's high-manganese steel, aiming to expand the material's commercial application in shipbuilding. Under the agreement, Hanwha Ocean will build a demonstration vessel equipped with the steel.
