JetBlue raises checked bag fees for the third time in a year due to rising fuel costs
JetBlue has raised its checked bag fees for the third time in a year due to rising fuel costs. For off-peak travel, the fee for a first checked bag purchased more than 24 hours in advance by economy passengers has increased from $45 to $50, while purchasing within 24 hours of departure costs $60. Fees are even higher during peak periods, reaching up to $70. JetBlue stated that the move is designed to offset climbing fuel and operational costs while maintaining the competitiveness of its base fares.
