Israel’s Lapid describes Trump’s announcement of $4bn annual US military aid cut as a historic failure
Israel’s opposition leader Yair Lapid described Trump’s announcement that Washington will cut $4bn of annual military aid to Israel as “one of the most severe political and security failures in the state’s history”. Lapid, head of the Yesh Atid party, added on X that it is “inconceivable” that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu capitulated to it and failed to prepare the security apparatus. Trump made the announcement on Fox News after voting in the midterm elections on Tuesday.
