US Representative Josh Gottheimer has disclosed the purchase of multiple AI chip-related stocks. According to the disclosure documents, Gottheimer—who serves as a member of the congressional subcommittee responsible for AI financial regulation—purchased AI chip-related stocks including Benchmark Electronics, Applied Materials, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in October through joint accounts and other means. Previously, in July, he voted in favor of a bill that would ban members of Congress and their families from trading individual stocks. His spokesperson stated that prior to taking office, Gottheimer placed his investments under independent third-party custody and is currently applying to establish a blind trust.
