Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stated that the goal of bringing all weapons within the country under state control must be achieved through dialogue rather than armed conflict. To this end, the Iraqi Prime Minister has reached understandings with four factions regarding the weapons issue; among them, Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq and Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada have agreed to submit their arms to control, while negotiations with Harakat al-Nujaba and Kata’ib Hezbollah are still ongoing. He also revealed that Iraq is in contact with Iran concerning the weapons held by Iraqi factions.
